Another Update
In other news, not unrelated to the birth of our son, we will not be moving away this fall. We like it here and we’re staying. More later.

I find it hard to believe that you do not want to spend the rest of your lives in Ohio. What\’s not to love about this state?!!!
We have a nice flat geography like a dinner plate, with a rim of hills around us. (We will probably become a lake during some future natural disaster - a good recreation opportunity)
Our air here is almost polution free if you stop looking for coal plant emissions and river valley smog around the major cities.
Some of our rivers have stopped burning and actually have small reproducing volumes of special seven-eyed fish called \”the next generation\”.
We get a smattering of snow for a grand total of 3 days after a long period of freezing preparation marked by dead flora, brown everything, strong winds, and very very very cold rain. After the snowfall, it melts and quickly refreezes into treacherous ice patches that remain for the long leadup to Spring that we call Sprinter (not quite winter and nothing like spring). Sprinter is that wonderful master of the asphalt test that determines whether the adhesion in our roads is good enough to keep them together or if they have cracks that need to be announced by the formation of a large man-sized pothole. Incidently, the wheel and tire industries offer great business opportunities in this area.
If you don\’t like small farms and the countryside you\’ll love the fact that we are paving them over to blaze the way for more stripmalls and the evergrowing city.
Last but not least is our huge mountain ski resort and tourism industries. Unmatched in the entire United States, these items are the true draws that keep us all living in this beautiful state. So what\’s not to like? God bless Ohio. Congrats on your decision to raise a family away from here.
